Truth is More Adorable Than Fiction

Girl writes love letter to fifth grade sweetheart. Boy finds letter in his closet eight years later. Boy reminisces, asks girl to prom. Girl says yes. 'Awww'-ing ensues.

This. Is. Too. Cute.

  1. It's hard to get comments out here isn't it? I'll weigh in if no one else will!

In Highschool I sat next to this girl who was a grade above me. She was asian which didn't matter but I go there for this point... she loved to do Origami. All through class we would joke and talk and have those moments where you're not quite sure if love is brewing but you swear it was... what I mean is, we would laugh so hard, crying out eyes out and then when the laughter trickled to a stop we would just stare into each other eyes. Looking back I wonder if we were thinking the same thing: Is she into me? Is he into me?

I never made the move, and neither did she. But she made me an origami rose on the last day of school before summer. I still have that rose to this day. I kept it in a box with the rest of my High School stuff.

Admittedly, every now and then I'll pull it out and remember that moment and wonder... "Was she into me?"

I ran into this girl recently at a mutual friend's birthday party. She's married now and about to have her first child. We laughed just like old times and caught up a bit but I swore... maybe it was my eyes playing tricks on me... but I swore she gave me that same look.

Can't help but wonder what if...? I wonder if she was thinking the same thing too?

  2. First off, thanks for commenting J.A. It really is hard out here.

LOVE your story! It kind of reminded me of this Neyo song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA_eGtmdfs0 (though I'm sure you are not nearly that melodramatic about it, lol)

As for whether or not she was into you, since she A) made something just for you & B) made a rose as opposed to a duck or something, I think it's safe to say that was a two-sided flirtation. :)
